Eight Palestinians killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza Strip

Eight Palestinians were killed and several others wounded in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Sunday. A medical source confirmed the casualties occurred amid daily violations of the ceasefire agreement that took effect last year. The violence included targeted strikes and gunfire in multiple areas.

Gaza’s Interior Ministry stated that five police officers were killed when Israeli forces targeted them in al-Mawasi. The ministry said these officers were carrying out their regular duties at the time of the attack. This incident adds to the rising toll of security personnel killed since the truce began.

According to the ministry, at least 75 policemen have been killed by Israeli fire since October 10, 2025. The continued targeting of law enforcement officials marks a significant escalation in hostilities despite the existing ceasefire terms. These deaths represent a substantial portion of the recent casualties.

In a separate airstrike on al-Thawra Street in Gaza City, three Palestinians were killed. A medical source at al-Shifa Hospital identified the victims as a father and his four-year-old son. The source noted that six other people, including a wife and her child, sustained injuries of varying severity.

Israeli forces also shot a Palestinian in the thigh in central Khan Younis. In the same area, a two-year-old girl was shot in the head and remains in moderate condition. Additionally, several Palestinians were wounded by gunfire in Halawa camp east of Jabalia refugee camp.

A woman from Halawa camp arrived at the hospital in critical condition following the shooting. Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that ongoing ceasefire violations have killed 1,580 Palestinians since October 2025. The ministry also recorded 5,711 others wounded during this period of renewed conflict.

Figures from the ministry show that Israel’s war since October 2023 has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians. Over 175,000 others have been wounded in the broader conflict. The sustained fighting has also destroyed around 90 percent of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure according to official records.
