Flydubai extends Tel Aviv flight suspension until Nov. 30

United Arab Emirates carrier Flydubai has extended its suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv until November 30. It was reported on Friday that the airline would continue to halt operations between the two locations for the time being.

The airline initially suspended services following a security incident involving flight FZ1073. The aircraft transmitted an emergency code while flying through Jordanian airspace before being diverted to Saudi Arabia on September 30, 2026.

A replacement plane eventually landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv with the passengers. This event marked the end of that specific journey but did not immediately restore regular commercial service for the carrier.

On October 9, UAE Attorney General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi announced the results of the investigation into the incident. He stated that investigators had determined the flight’s assistant captain was responsible for the disruption.

The assistant captain, identified as an Omani national, attempted to seize control of the aircraft during the flight. Al Shamsi described the act as a "suicide operation targeting Ben Gurion Airport," leading to the ongoing suspension.
