Gaza office records 5,989 ceasefire breaches since truce began
Officials report sharp drop in aid trucks and passenger crossings during October amid continued military violations.

The Government Media Office in Gaza stated Monday that Israeli forces committed 5,989 ceasefire violations since the agreement started. The announcement highlighted ongoing restrictions on humanitarian aid, fuel supplies, and travel through the Rafah border crossing.
Authorities reported that these breaches resulted in 1,593 Palestinian deaths and 5,748 injuries. Additionally, Israeli troops arrested 217 individuals. The office warned that continued attacks and border closures are severely worsening living conditions for civilians.
During October alone, officials documented 753 violations, averaging 24.3 incidents daily. These actions included 346 shootings, 310 bombardments, and 64 home demolitions using explosives. There were also 21 armored vehicle incursions and 12 arrest operations recorded.
The statement noted 145 killings in October, including 21 children and 14 women. Another 672 people suffered injuries, with vulnerable groups comprising half the total. Nineteen Palestinians were detained during the month as part of these systematic breaches.
Aid deliveries fell drastically short, with only 3,777 trucks entering against a target of 18,600. This amounts to just 20.3% of required shipments. Fuel imports reached merely 15.9% of agreed levels, with 247 trucks arriving instead of 1,550.
Passenger movement at Rafah remained low, with 802 crossings against an expected 4,200. The office condemned Israel’s policy as strangulation and held the US responsible. It urged mediators to pressure Israel to stop attacks and open crossings.
